Minutes of the meeting of 4/8/16
Meeting Opened at: 10am
Select Board Members Present: Scott Jenssen, Chairperson, Kenn Basler, Donald Clawson, Stanley Ross and BJ Johnson
Also in attendance: Shawn Tryon
Items Reviewed:
1. The Board and Finance Committee discussed the proposed school budget. We have been told that we cannot amend the proposed amount on the town meeting floor that the town can only vote it up or down. The Finance Committee agreed unanimously that it would be recommended at town meeting to vote it down and force the school to seriously look where cuts can be made; the Select Board will discuss and vote on this on Monday.
2. The Finance Committee reviewed all of the monetary special articles with regards to which they would support approving and those they would not. They will not approve supporting the citizen petition from the WMH.
3. Kenn spoke to the Town Clerk and the Accountant and they have concluded that $1,300 should be added to the Town Clerk’s salary to compensate for the fees she collects that she will now be turned over to the town and no longer paid to the Clerk.
4. The Board and Finance Committee discussed the special town meeting that will be held just prior to the annual to transfer funds from the fire department education and training account to the fire department expense account.
5. Shawn was asked if he was comfortable with the highway budget as proposed; he will look it over one more time and will come to Monday’s meeting.
A motion was made and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at: 10:50am
